Journey
The long version of how I got here.
A timeline of the moments, missteps, and milestones that turned 'curious kid with a laptop' into a full-stack engineer shipping software that businesses run on.
The receipts.
A walkthrough of the years that turned 'curious kid' into 'engineer who ships'.
Started Computer Engineering
Began a B.E. in Computer Engineering at I.K.G. Punjab Technical University, and started writing code that had to work for someone other than me.
01Committed to the full stack
Went deep on React on the front end and Spring Boot and Node on the back, deliberately refusing to specialise until I could carry a feature end to end.
02Joined YPSS as a Full-Stack Web Developer
First production codebase with real users. Built the backend and two web apps running a national volunteer organization's operations across India.
03Graduated, and shipped through it
Finished the B.E. with a 7.36 CGPA while running the org hierarchy, permission engine, and analytics dashboards at YPSS in parallel.
04National-scale systems, daily use
Aadhaar OCR verification, exportable PDF/Excel analytics drilling down by zone and branch, real-time chat and push — used every day, across India, until I wrapped up in December.
05Joined Totalsoft IT Solutions
Full stack across production SaaS for logistics and service-industry clients: live GPS fleet software under UK/EU transport law, multi-tenant garage SaaS, and a platform-wide billing and governance console.
06The road so far.
Two companies, four-plus years, and software that real businesses run on every day — not tutorials, not side projects.
Full Stack Developer
Totalsoft IT Solutions · Full-time · London, UK · Remote
Full stack developer across a portfolio of production SaaS products for logistics and service-industry clients — working end to end from database and API design through React, Next.js, and React Native clients to cloud deployment.
- Own delivery end to end: data architecture, APIs, web and mobile clients, and the deploy pipeline behind them.
- Build for regulated, revenue-carrying environments where an outage is an operational and legal problem, not a bug ticket.
- Ship with end-to-end Playwright coverage so releases go out without holding anyone's breath.
Products shipped here
TMS — Transport Management System
A transport platform (web console + React Native driver app) running a UK operator's dispatch, fleet, and driver operations, engineered to meet strict UK/EU transport compliance law — drivers' hours, tachograph records, and vehicle inspections. Delivered live GPS tracking, automated driver-hours compliance alerts, and real-time dispatcher–driver chat over WebSockets, replacing manual paperwork with live operational visibility. Every driver-hours, inspection, and defect record is fully auditable, so the system holds up under real regulatory scrutiny.
TGM — Totalsoft Garage Manager
A multi-tenant SaaS platform for garages to manage customers, vehicles, invoices, quotes, and appointments, with tenant data isolation enforced at the architecture level so new paying customers onboard with zero risk of cross-tenant exposure. Automated invoicing, document storage, and SMS notifications, plus a self-signup marketing site and full end-to-end Playwright test coverage.
Totalsoft Platform Console
A product-agnostic billing and governance console managing tenants, subscriptions, and access across every Totalsoft SaaS product — onboarding a new product takes a configuration entry rather than new code. Implemented fully audited role-based access control for approving, suspending, and billing tenants, and integrated Direct Debit billing with live webhook-driven payment events.
Full-Stack Web Developer
Yuva Parivar Sewa Samiti (YPSS) · Full-time · Nurmahal, Jalandhar, India
Built the backend and two web apps — an Admin Panel and a Report Panel — running a national volunteer organization's operations across India, on a shared single sign-on across subdomains.
- Designed a Spring Boot backend modeling the full org hierarchy (zones, branches, teams, roles) with a tiered permission engine: 5 role tiers, dozens of individually gated permissions, and full grant/revoke audit history.
- Delivered member management with Aadhaar OCR verification and real-time, exportable (PDF/Excel) analytics dashboards drilling down by zone and branch.
- Added real-time chat, push notifications, and email alerts to keep volunteers and branch leadership in sync across the organization.
- Ran a shared single sign-on across subdomains so one identity works everywhere in the platform.
Education & extra credit
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Computer Engineering
I.K.G. Punjab Technical University · Jun 2020 — Jun 2024
Graduated with a CGPA of 7.36/10, building production software alongside coursework for the final two years.
Senior Secondary
Amritsar Group Of Colleges, Amritsar · May 2018 — May 2020
Completed with 84.2%, where the habit of taking things apart to see how they work started paying rent.
Trophies, certificates, and the occasional bragging right.
Milestones from hackathons, certifications, and projects that genuinely moved the needle.
Hackathon Winner
Took first place at a national-level hackathon for a full-stack productivity tool built and shipped inside 36 hours.
Lighthouse 100 across the board
Hit perfect Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO scores on a client's marketing site after a focused two-week audit.
Report Analysis Suite — production launch
Owned end-to-end delivery of an internal report analytics suite at YPSS, used daily by operations teams.
Open-source utilities
Maintain a handful of small open-source utilities for personal use that other devs have actually starred and forked. The internet works.
Mentor to junior engineers
Hosted weekly code reviews and pair-programming sessions for junior devs on the YPSS team. Receipts: their PR-merge times dropped 30%.
Shipping streak
Pushed code to production every single week for an entire calendar year. Boring on paper, transformative in practice.
